Rules & Guidelines

College Time Table

TEACHING HOURS IN THE COLLEGE: 10:00 a. m. – 4:00 p. m.

  • All students will come to college according to their time-table and will leave college only after classes are over.
  • No student will be permitted to leave college before her classes are over.
  • Students cannot leave the college during their free period.
  • Every student must be present in class according to her time-table.

Disciplinary Rules

  • Bringing mobile phones to college is strictly prohibited. Guardians should not allow their wards to bring mobile phones to college. If a student is caught using the phone in the college, the phone will be confiscated and will be returned only after disciplinary action is taken against the erring student.
  • After admission the student must keep her identity card and a copy of the time table with her. The principal and Chief Proctor/Proctor can check this anytime.
  • Throwing polythene bags, paper and other rubbish in the college is strictly forbidden. Dustbins should be used for throwing waste products. Cleanliness must be maintained in the college compound at all cost.
  • Students should not paste advertisements and posters on the walls of the buildings. Writing/graffiti on the walls is strictly forbidden.
  • According to university rules, each student must have 75% attendance in all subjects.
  • Students must take refreshment in the canteen only.
  • Desks and chairs should not be removed from classes or damaged. In case of any loss to property or building, the responsible student(s) have to indemnify for the same.
  • Students should sit in the library reading room and common room during their free periods. Roaming about in the corridors is not allowed as it disturbs classes.
  • Students can give their suggestions and problems in writing, to the Chief Proctor/Proctor or teacher in-charge of the student committee.
  • Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college. Student(s) found guilty of this offence will be strictly punished.
  • Cycles and scooters must be parked in the stands. If vehicles are parked elsewhere, it will be considered an act of indiscipline.
  • Every morning, prayers will be held in the college hall between 10:00 a. m. to 10:15 a. m. Important information shall be given to students during assembly.

Student Welfare Fund

    The student welfare fund helps meritorious and poor students. The students should contact the following teachers:

  • Arts faculty : Dr. Sujata Verma – H.O.D. Hindi Department
    Dr. Manju Jain – Associate Prof. Sociology Department
  • Science faculty : Dr. Gargi Yadav – Associate Prof. Chemistry Department

Meritorious students should contact the teachers’ in-charge, in the month of November.


Internet Facility

Free internet facility is available for students in the college office.


Library and Reading Room

The college has a well equipped library along with a reading book where students can read books during college hours. Students must observe the following library rules:-

  • To get a book issued from the library the student must submit the duly filled library card with a photo attached, to the library.
  • Only two books will be issued at one time.
  • Books will be issued only for two weeks.
  • Failure to return books in the stipulated time will entail a payment of late fee of Rs. 2/- per day.
  • If a book is lost or the page are tear, the student will have to pay the penalty.
  • Students are not allowed to take home costly books (above Rs. 200/-). These books can be read in the reading room.
  • Students must return the books before the end of the academic session by 10th February, 2015, Else their University examination forms will not be issued.
  • Magazines can be read in the reading room.
  • Reference books of a very high standard for research work are available in the library.
  • A Catalogue can be searched for finding required books.

Co-Curricular Activities

National Cadet Corps (NCC):

There is a platoon of NCC Senior Division in the College. Students who have specified qualifications and are willing to join NCC can contact NCC In-charge, Lt. Mamta Agarwal for their registration.

Nursery Teachers Training Course (Shiksha Bharti Puraskar 2012 awardee):

S. Sen Nursery Teachers Training Institute (ISO 9001:2008 Certified) run by the Sen Group Management is a Teacher Training Institute running successfully in Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) for over 30 years now. We offer the course in both regular as well as correspondence modules.

Currently, besides Uttar Pradesh, we have students from 4 other states in northern, eastern and western India doing the course from our institute in correspondence module.

Our training equips students with varied skill-sets and enhances their teaching prowess to make them a desirable candidate for schools across India spanning all boards (ICSE, CBSE, State boards) and mediums (Hindi, English, Vernacular/ Regional).

Computer Education Programme:

One year ‘O’ Level Computer courses is conducted in the college by CSJM University, Kanpur. This ‘O’ Level Foundation Course is approved by DOEAC Society, Government of India. After completing this course, students can avail the opportunities of various jobs like Junior Programmer, Lab Assistant, Assistant Faculty, Data Operator, etc. This course can be done either in English or in Hindi at a very nominal fee.

Four Papers of ‘O’ Level are related with four different areas of Information Technology (IT). To get a dignified job, a specialized course can be done after completing ‘O’ Level Courses. For more details, students should contact the computer centre in the college.

Rover’s Rangers:

There is a branch of Rover’s Rangers in the College. Willing students can Contact the teacher In-charge, Dr. Preeti Pandey.

Physical Education:

Students can offer Physical Education as one of their subjects which will enhance their physical and mental development. Students of both the faculties B. A. / B. Sc. can offer this subject.

National and state level players, handicapped and reined soldiers from army will get exemption in the college Merit List laid by the administration and CSJM University, Kanpur. National & state level and University level players will also get games scholarship.

Students Committee:

Various cultural and literary programmes are organised by student’s committee of the college. Students are urged to participate in these programmes which will be beneficial for their creative and personality development.


Important Information Regarding Scholarship for Students:

Only those students having the required qualification specified by the administration can avail the scholarship given by the U.P. Government.

Students must obey the following scholarship rules:

  • Scholarship application form is attached with this prospectus.
  • The Scholarship application form is to be filled only by the students of B. A. I/ B. Sc. I/ M. A. I.
  • The Scholarship form can be filled by the students from these categories – General/ OBC/ ST/ SC students from the minority community and handicapped students can also fill the scholarship application form.
  • Scholarship will be decided on the basis of Parent’s monthly income.
  • After taking admission B. A. I/ B. Sc. I, students who have requisite qualification for scholarship should open their bank account in Syndicate Bank, S. N. Sen B.V.P.G. College Branch, Kanpur. Bank account of any other bank or post office will be considered invalid.
  • Students must fill in scholarship application form in Triplicate (3 Copies). Two copies have to be deposited in the college and one to be kept safely with the applicant/ student.
  • Following documents are to be enclosed with the scholarship form :-
    • Original family monthly income certificate and caste certificate issued by the Teshildar / D.M. Office.
    • Poverty Line-attested photocopy of family ID.
    • Photocopy of fee receipt.
    • Photocopy of passbook of account opened in Syndicate Bank with account number and name of the bank branch mentioned clearly.
  • After seeking admission, students should open their account in Syndicate Bank, Mall Road and get their account number.
  • Scholarship application form dully filled with all important document attached should be submitted to the scholarship in-charge within the specified date.
  • This is the prerogative of the administration to give or refuse scholarship to the student. Scholarship will be directly transferred in the student’s account by the administration.
